The hotel is a modern tower block and is centrally located. If you arrive by plane, get a Kitica card at an airport JR station machine [Suica cards only operate in the Tokyo area]{keep it topped up through numerous machines [incl. 7/11 & Lawson shops] & use it like a touch card debit card on trains/subway/ trams/shops/bars/restaurants. Some small businesses are cash only}. Use an express or limited stop train to Sapporo,[every 15-30 minutes], 'local' train is multi stop. Use a taxi from Sapporo Station to Mercure, about 1300Y/about 1km; subway still has a lot of walking/carrying case up/down stairs; Mercure is halfway between exits 3 + 4 of [Hosui] Susukino station, about 1.5 blocks either way. Most places or transport stops are within a few blocks of the hotel: TV tower, underground walkway, covered shopping street, Nijo Market. The tram route is circular & fixed price [we used it, plus a walk, for Mount Moiwa ropeway/cable car]. Lots of shopping/restaurants in the area. We used a taxi back to Sapporo Stn. then express train back to airport stn. & cashed the Kitica card in [at a desk not a machine]. Careful with trains, usually the middle carriage is reserved seat holders only or restricted entry, e.g. women only or mother/child during busy times, they have signs &/or purple stripes.

Location of the hotel was right in the middle of downtown Sapporo which was perfect for going around on foot to find food and entertainment. Convenience stores were also quite close by for any late night cravings. The rooms were also quite spacious and fit 4 beds and a crib quite well. All our needs as a family with an infant were met space-wise and my wife and I as new parents couldn’t be happier. I had a problem with the shipping of an item I ordered online and their staff, and I’m so sorry I can’t seem to remember his name at the moment, helped me sort it out and had the item forwarded to our next hotel since the rerouting wouldn’t make it before we left. Top notch service. Will definitely be staying here again for our next trips to Sapporo. Thank you Mercure Hotel Sapporo!!

The hotel is a great location with easy access to bars and restaurants. The staff are so helpful with everything, and I great knowledge of the area. There was American girl who worked at the front desk who was so helpful and super friendly, I definitely think your manager needs to give you. Salary increase, she was always going the extra mile, I hope return next year again.

Lovely furnished room - it had a classy feel and plenty of space.. Good water pressure in the shower. Water is provided in the fridge each day. Located very conveniently in Susukino and close to subway station entrance. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores in close proximity. The room was quite dark with the curtain closed, which helped me get a good sleep.

The breakfast was lovely. The quality was not amazing but it was definitely of a good enough standard for us to eat our fill. We were very happy with the standard of service, and variety. It allowed us to have a full latomach to go and explore the area without too much fuss trying to find breakfast locations given that most places don't open until after 10am.
